ST. LOUIS-- [
BOX SCORE] The issue was never really in doubt for MBU Women's Basketball in a 72-36 victory over Hannibal-LaGrange on Tuesday night.
It was apparent early that the shots just weren't falling for the Trojans. After scoring their fourth point with 5:51 to go in the first quarter, the home side went almost nine minutes before their next field goal.
The Spartans, meanwhile, did not let their foot off the gas. MBU rebounded from a poor shooting performance on Saturday against CBC by going 15-34 in the first half of this one. They led 38-7 at halftime.
Hannibal shot it slightly better after the break but the damage had long been done. Missouri Baptist pushed the advantage to as many as 38 before settling on a 72-36 final.
Alissa Rowden was the player of the game for the Spartans. The junior posted new career-highs in points (19), three-point field goals (5), and steals (3). Her sister Amanda also reached double figures for MBU, finishing with 11 points. Senior
Jessica Moore provided a solid contribution as well with a career-high nine points.
The Spartans are back in action at home on Thursday. The Stephens Stars will visit the SRC for a 5:30 pm tip.
