Game Recap: Women's Basketball |

RELENTLESS SPARTANS TOO MUCH FOR STEPHENS

ST. LOUIS—[BOX SCORE] Missouri Baptist Women's Basketball was in control from the outset on Thursday night in a 75-46 victory over Stephens College.

The Spartan defense was up to the task all night. Stephens shot just 25% (5-20) from the field in the first quarter. The offense, meanwhile, was cooking to a tune of 57% (8-14), including a 5-8 mark from the three-point line.

MBU exited the opening frame with a 22-13 lead and did nothing but build on that the rest of the night. A three from Alissa Rowden with seven seconds left in the second quarter gave the Spartans 44-25 edge going into halftime.

The comeback wasn't in the cards for the visiting Stars after the break either. The Spartan lead grew to as many as 31 late in the fourth. The final was a 29-point edge when the dust settled.
For the fifth consecutive game, Briya Wilborn reached double-figures to lead Missouri Baptist. The senior posted 20 in this one on 9-14 shooting. Amanda Rowden got the start and finished 6-9 from the field for 16 points.

Megan Fassino saw extended minutes and made them count with a season-high 10 points on 4-7 from the field.

The Spartans are now 12-11 overall and 10-9 in the AMC. No. 25 Lindenwood-Belleville will visit the SRC on Saturday at 1 pm.
