ST. LOUIS, Mo.—The Spartans made their way to Grand Rapids to take on the (RV) Saints of Aquinas on Monday. It was a hard fought battle, but the Spartans could not come up with the win, as they fell 17-15.
Missouri Baptist kept up with Aquinas throughout the first half, but the Saints always seemed to be one step ahead. Any time the Spartans got within range to tie things up or take a lead, Aquinas put themselves further ahead. The Spartans faced a three-point deficit heading into the half.
The second half was much like the first, as the teams traded goals back and forth. However, the Saints continued taking the lead from MBU. The Spartans outscored Aquinas in the second half, but it was not enough to push past them, as the Saints took the win by just two goals.
Laura Ebers showed out for the Spartans, once again. The sophomore went on to score a total of seven goals and tied
McKenna Fisher for the lead in successful draw controls (6).
Kaitlin Mills finished things up with a total of 13 saves.
The Women's Lacrosse squad is back in action on Tuesday, March 13. They'll head to Indiana to take on the Pilots of Bethel College at 1 pm (CST).
