ST. LOUIS—[BOX GAME ONE] [BOX GAME TWO] MBU Softball opened its Florida Spring Break trip with 15-0 and 13-1 wins over Iowa Wesleyan on Monday morning.

The offense came out of the gates hot in game one with eight runs in the first two innings. The highlight of the opening frame was a two-out, two-run single from Caitlin McNiff. Baleigh Koester got the start on the mound and also helped the offense with a two-run single in the second.

MBU added six more in the third, capped off by a three-run home run from McNiff. The Spartans made it 15-0 in the fourth and enacted the 15 after five rule to end the game one frame later.

Game two was a near carbon copy as a five-run second and seven-run third once again led to an early finish.  Rachel Galbraith, Ally Gischer, and Meagan Elder each posted a pair of RBIs. Delissa Dennison allowed one run on three hits in a complete game. She also struck out six.

The Spartans will face Marywood University (Pa.) at 8:30 am CST and Keiser University (Fla.) at 11 am on Tuesday in Cocoa Beach.
