Austin Dahl also recorded his 100
th career goal, and then some.
The Spartans managed to quickly take the lead in the highly anticipated matchup. They put up five goals in the first quarter, while the Bulldogs only managed two. However, TWU gained a spark of momentum as they rolled through the Spartans, tying things up, then eventually taking the lead. MBU faced a one-point deficit heading into the half.
MoBap figured things out in the third quarter, answering back with four goals, and taking the lead, once again (9-7).
The fourth quarter was penalty ridden as each team battled it out. It was a nearly scoreless eight minutes until freshman
Jaxon Haas put one in the net, giving the Spartans a three-point lead. The Bulldogs were not ready to go down without a fight, as they scored two, putting them within reach of overtime (9-10). With barely a minute left,
Noah Campbell gained possession and handed it off to
Devin Mayer for the final goal of the match. The Spartans took their third season win, 11-9.
Dahl led the way, recording five goals and ground balls alike. Mayer and Haas each scored two, while Campbell and
Jon Chaffee each put in one.
Robert Ates finished the day with a total of 11 saves.
The Men's Lacrosse squad is back in action on Saturday, March 17. They'll take on Keiser University at 10 am (CST).
