ST. LOUIS, Mo. – Missouri Baptist fell to Keiser University 6-5 on Saturday in Athens, Tennessee. After being tied through the first three quarters, one Keiser goal in the fourth was enough to sink the Spartans.

MBU took an early lead in the first quarter on
Sean Hess' sixth goal of the season, assisted by
Devin Mayer. Mayer scored one of his own three minutes later to put the Spartans up 2-0.

Keiser did not answer until there was 24 seconds remaining in the first. Justin Stone found the back of the net to trim the lead to one heading into the second period.

Nolan Duncan kick started things for Keiser in the second with a game tying goal at 12:42. Craig Marentette put one by
Robert Ates in the period as well.

Austin Dahl, coming off a five-goal performance on Thursday, scored his 14
th of the year in the second period. Mayer also scored for MBU in the quarter, his second goal of the game, as Missouri Baptist clung to a 4-3 lead after two.

The Seahawks surged in the third behind two goals. Dahl scored the tying goal with 54 seconds remaining to keep the game tied.

A Keiser goal at 12:33 in the fourth wrapped this game up for good. The Spartans were defeated in this closely contested match 6-5.

Devin Mayer had a big day scoring two goals and posting three points. Dahl also impressed scoring two goals on eight shots.

Missouri Baptist lacrosse comes home on Friday to play Saint Ambrose University at Spartan Field. The game is scheduled for 4 p.m.
