SPARTANS ROLL TO ANOTHER VICTORY

ST. LOUIS, Mo.—The Spartans took on Asbury University on Saturday, April 14.  After defeating Robert Morris on Friday, MBU continued their winning ways with another victory. They defeated the Eagles 12-7, improving their record to 6-4 on the season.

Jaxon Haas quickly put one in the net to start off the scoring for the home team. Andy Coulter, Sean Hess and Austin Dahl each put one past AU's keeper, as well, while the Eagles struggled to hold off MBU (4-0).

Dahl continued the scoring run for MoBap barely a minute into the second quarter. Trevor Park and Devin Mayer followed suit, while the Eagles remained scoreless. With just 25 seconds left in the period, Gabriel Fardin managed to sneak past the Spartan defense, putting the Eagles on the board. MBU entered the half with a six point lead (7-1).

Out of the half, Asbury seemed to gain momentum as they scored two, decreasing their deficit to four. From there, the Spartans managed to hold onto the ball for the majority of the remaining minutes. Hess and Coulter came through, once again, putting the MBU back ahead by six before the final quarter.

The fourth quarter was do or die for Asbury, as the teams continued to battle it out. The Eagles managed to put a few goals past Alex Lauko, but it was not enough to catch the Spartans, as they rolled to their third consecutive win.

It was a great day for MBU, with contributions all around. Austin Dahl, Andy Coulter, Jaxon Haas and Sean Hess all scored three total goals, while Caleb Tant scored his first of the season. Garrett McKelvie and Noah Campbell each clocked out at a total of four ground balls. Campbell also went 11-17 in faceoffs, leading the match by a landslide.

Robert Ates and Alex Lauko combined for a total of four saves.

The Spartans are back in action on Saturday, April 21. They will honor senior teammates before taking on the Lindenwood Lynx at 11 am.
