[BOX SCORE] A valiant effort from the Spartans fell short against the explosive Marian offense. MBU saw their five-game winning streak end on Friday after losing to the Knights 13-9. They now sit 6-6 on the year.

Kori Garland kicked things off with 21:39 remaining in the first half, putting the Knights on the board first.
McKenna Fisher responded less than a minute later with her 21
st goal of the year, tying the game for the Spartans.

Katie Pilla and
Grace Adams both scored before the 10-minute mark in the first to keep pace with Marian. The first half was a back and forth affair until the Knights scored three goals in the final three minutes of the half to give them a 6-4 lead.

Marian kept the offense rolling into the second half putting up seven more before the end of the game. The Spartans tried to mount a comeback in the final few minutes, but ultimately came up short. The 13-9 loss ended the string of close victories for the scrappy women's lacrosse team.

Katie Pilla and
Audrey Frost led the offense today. Pilla scored three and Frost two that helped spark the offense.
Kaitlin Mills made 12 saves in the loss.

Spartan lacrosse resumes on Thursday against the Lynx of Lindenwood-Belleville. The game is scheduled for 7 p.m. in Belleville, Illinois.
