ST. LOUIS—Missouri Baptist women's soccer made it four straight unbeaten after a 9-0 romp against Williams Baptist University (Ark.) on Tuesday afternoon at Spartan Field.
The Spartans were in control from the start and denied the Eagles' even a single shot on goal for the duration of the match. The scoring began in the ninth minute.
Miranda Pratt made it four straight games on the scoresheet when she finished off a cross into the box from
Allie Heinz.
35 seconds later,
Cassandra Willhite doubled the lead off another assist from Heinz. The Eagles were then left reeling when
Casey Gutting scored her second of the year just 25 seconds after Willhite's goal. Pratt and
Riley Janvrin provided the assists.
Pratt continued her tear with another goal in the 24
th minute and then completed the first half hat trick two minutes later. Heinz once again dished out the helper on Pratt's third goal to set a new career high in assists. With her sixth goal of the year, Pratt moved within one of the AMC lead.
Alexis Ramey completed the first half scoring and the Spartans went into the break with a comfy 6-0 advantage. They would add three more in the second half courtesy of Willhite, Gutting, and
Alexis Ferren.
Riley Janvrin would equal Heinz for the day's assist lead with two more of her own in the second half.
Miranda Pratt and Ramey tied for the team lead with five shots on goal. As a team, the Spartans put 26 shots on target.
Missouri Baptist improved to 2-4-2 overall and 2-0-1 in the AMC. Next up for the navy and white is a meeting with the Central Baptist College (Ark.) Mustangs at home on Friday. Kickoff at Spartan Field is scheduled for 2 pm.
