ST. LOUIS—Missouri Baptist Men's Soccer was held without a goal for the second consecutive game on Monday. The Spartans fell 3-0 to Southeastern University in Lakeland, Fla.
The Fire struck first in the 23
rd minute and doubled their lead in the 29
th. It stayed that way into halftime.
The Spartan offense could not solve Southeastern. The home side held their shape to perfection and MBU managed just a single shot attempt in the opening frame and two attempts in the second half. Neither attempt was on goal. At the other end, the Fire attempted 22 shots with eight on goal.
With dark clouds overhead transitioning into heavy rain, Southeastern added a third goal in the 61
st minute to put the game out of reach.
Missouri Baptist (3-2) will now return home to prepare for a match on Saturday, September 8, against Culver-Stockton. Kickoff is scheduled for 5 pm at Spartan Field.
