ST. LOUIS—Missouri Baptist Women's Soccer (1-8-1, 1-2-1 AMC) came up empty on Wednesday against (RV) Columbia College (7-3, 4-0 AMC) in a 4-0 defeat.
Columbia got out of the gates quickly with a goal in the fourth minute and doubled the lead in the 19
th minute. The Spartans controlled the play for long stretches of the first half after falling behind but were unable to trouble CC goalkeeper Kate Marshall.
The second half got off to a promising start with possession in the Columbia end of the field but the visiting side would take the wind out of the Spartans' sails with two goals in eight seconds in the 75
th minute. The final shots on goal count would finish at 10-2 in favor of the Cougars.
Missouri Baptist will look to right the ship on Saturday against Central Baptist College (2-9, 2-3 AMC). Kickoff in Conway, Ark. is scheduled for 1 pm.
