CONWAY, Ark. – Missouri Baptist Women's Soccer evened its AMC record with a lopsided 6-0 victory over Central Baptist College on Saturday afternoon in Arkansas.
The Spartans were in control from the opening kickoff and it took just over four minutes for
Madison Dodd to get the scoring started. Dodd's first shot on a breakaway was turned away but the junior cleaned up the rebound for her third goal of the season.
Dodd was in on the action again in the 11
th minute when the Spartans doubled their lead. Her cross into the box found freshman
Maddie Mrazik who finished off her first career goal to make it 2-0.
The scoring slowed for the remainder of the opening half before
Gianna Gore reignited the offense with her second of the year in the 47
th minute. If that didn't put it out of reach,
Nicole Talley's strike from the penalty spot in the 61
st minute surely did. The Spartans continued to pour it on with another goal from Mrazik in the 69
th minute followed by
Riley Janvrin's second of the year in the 84
th to complete the scoring.
The final shot count totaled 22-6 in favor of Missouri Baptist. Freshman
Hanna Harrison made her first start in goal and made three saves for the Spartans to earn the clean sheet.
The Spartans (2-8-1, 2-2-1 AMC) return to action at home against Lyon College next Saturday. Kickoff at Maryville Field is scheduled for 1 pm.
