CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – The Missouri Baptist University men's cross country team had seven runners record personal bests on Saturday morning at the NAIA Seminole Valley Stampede. Overall, the Spartans finished 11
th out 20 teams at the event hosted by Mount Mercy University.
Junior
Trey Peugeot was MBU's top finisher placing 64
th with a time of 27:42.30.
Senior
Brian Jordan and sophomore
Jordan Crawford crossed the finish line one after the other, both with PRs.
Brian Jordan (83
rd) trimmed off 55 seconds from his previous best to clock in at 28:13.80.
Jordan Crawford (84
th) also cut significant time off his PR, taking off 1 minute, 4 seconds to finish with a time of 28:17.40.
The next wave of Spartans included newcomer
Nick Bewen, who dropped 37 seconds to finish 123
rd at 29:31.10, and junior
Joshua Person, who improved his time from two weekends ago by eight seconds.
Other MBU runners with personal bests were sophomore
Colin Brown, freshman
Christian Kafoury and sophomore
Riley Cantrell.
Saturday's meet in Cedar Rapids served as the final tune-up before the American Midwest Conference (AMC) Championships on November 8. The AMC Championships will once again be held in Elsah, Ill. at Principia College's Cross Country Championship Course.
