PEORIA, Ill. – Missouri Baptist University placed 14 runners in the top 100 at the Bradley Intercollegiate on Friday, led by freshman
Isabella Aimonette's 17th-place finish. The men's program took seventh place out of 23 teams, while the women placed sixth.
Aimonette crossed in
17:39.60 seconds on the 5k course, pacing the Spartans against a field dominated by host Bradley. Senior
Adrienne Rockette was next across for MBU in
50th place at 18:48.60, followed by sophomore
Julia Whorton (69th, 19:30.70) and freshman
Alyssa Collins (70th, 19:31.20). Sophomore
Camrin Watkins secured the Spartans' fifth scoring spot in
71st place with a time of 19:35.80.
Senior
Haley Hernandez added depth at 87th (19:57.90), while sophomore
Elizabeth Burgan rounded out MBU's lineup in 98th at 20:25.20.
Phillip Kackley led the way for the men, crossing the line in 26:45.1 seconds, good for 43rd overall in the men's 8k race. Senior Nicholas Fehr followed close behind in 47th with a career-best 26:50.3.
Sophomore
Brandon Etheridge also set a season-best, clocking 27:35.8 for 68th. Junior
Grant Patten (27:47.8, 74th) and sophomore
Clayton Schneider (27:49.1, 77th) rounded out the Spartans' top five scorers.
Sophomore
Wyatt Claiborne (28:06.3, 89th) and senior
David Fletcher (28:13.3, 91st) provided depth with season-best times, giving Missouri Baptist a compact top seven under 90 seconds.
The Spartans run again on Saturday, Oct. 4, at the Seminole Valley Stampede in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
