ST. LOUIS—The Missouri Baptist Spartans hosted the Spartans of the University of Dubuque (Iowa) on Monday afternoon. MBU came out on top with a 10-point win, 13-3.
After a slow start on either side, MBU's
Madison Turnbeaugh put the Spartans on the board just before the 15-minute mark. From there, Missouri Baptist came alive, putting in five more before the half. Dubuque would remain scoreless, allow MBU to enter the half with a comfortable six-point lead (6-0).
Dubuque's offense picked up their pace after the break, scoring their first goal a few minutes into the second half. They would manage a couple more, but MBU would prove to be too much to handle. Another goal from Turnbeaugh with just seconds remaining gave the Spartans the win.
Two Spartans earned hat tricks on Monday. Spartan Athlete of the Week
Jordan Haeusser led the way with five goals, while
Madison Turnbeaugh finished up with a total of four.
Defender
