ST. LOUIS—Missouri Baptist Women's Soccer had 36 total shot attempts on Wednesday vs. St. Louis College of Pharmacy but of the 13 on goal, none could beat Eutectics goalkeeper Ashton Lindsley. MBU and STLCOP played out a 0-0 draw after 110 minutes of play.
After a slow moving first half passed by with just a two shots on goal, the Spartans played with more urgency and purpose in the second 45. Chances from
Madi Dunahue,
Alayna Buxton, and
Madison Dodd were all turned aside from Lindsley. The freshman would make five saves in the second half, with a defender clearing another opportunity off the goal line. Perhaps the Spartans best chance, though, came when
Brianna Merchant tried a long range shot that ricocheted off the crossbar.
Riley Janvrin tried to head home the rebound but, again, Lindsley was there to make the save.
The Spartans tested Lindsley with seven more shots on goal in the first overtime and two more in the second extra period. It wasn't to be though and the match expired without a goal. College of Pharmacy attempted just one shot attempt on
Jemica Artillaga.
The Spartans are now 1-1-1 in AMC play. After a weekend off, they'll be back in action next Wednesday against Columbia. The match will be played at Tony Glavin Soccer Complex in St. Peters with a 4 pm kickoff.
