ELGIN, Ill. – Missouri Baptist men's volleyball continued their recent hot play on Friday afternoon after sweeping Clarke University and Lincoln College. Neither team scored more than 17 points in a set against MBU as they pushed their winning streak to 11 games.
In game one, the Spartans led by
Mario Lucas' 10 kills took all three sets with relative ease over Clarke University. MBU did not let the Pride score more than 15 points in any set, including a dominant 25-7 set two win.
Luka Cajic and
Miljan Kastratovic were not too far behind Lucas with 9 and 8 kills, respectively.
Jason Harman had a strong showing with 30 assists as did
Gabe Norsigian with two blocks and four kills.
The Spartan momentum continued into their second game with the Lincoln College Lynx. The Spartans defeated their counterparts with a 25-13 set one score, 25-17 set two score, and a 25-11 set three score.
Thomas Beye was instrumental in Missouri Baptist's second win, hitting .545 on 11 attempts and seven kills.
Job Faber also carried the load with 26 assists and two service aces.
Stephen Menzel brought the strong defense, collecting seven digs.
The Judson University Invitational continues tomorrow morning as the Spartans are set to take on (4) Lourdes University at 10 a.m. and (9) Aquinas at 2 p.m.
