WALNUT RIDGE, Ark. – MBU Men's Soccer dropped the penultimate game of the regular season on Tuesday afternoon – a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Williams Baptist. The Spartans are sixth in the
AMC standings with one match left before the AMC Postseason Tournament.
WBU opened the scoring in the 12
th minute off a corner kick. Jacobo Obradors cleaned up a rebound just outside the six-yard box to give the Eagles a 1-0 lead. Obradors would net his second of the game in the 69
th minute off a cross from Hugo Gil.
The Spartans managed just three shots on goal compared to six for Williams Baptist.
Wessel Berenschot made four saves for MBU.
Next up will be the regular season finale on Saturday against No. 6 Columbia (11-1-2, 6-0-1 AMC). It will also be senior night at Spartan Field. Start time is set for 7 pm.
