SPARTANS STUMBLE TO PATRIOTS IN SECOND LEG OF ROAD TRIP

WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. – Missouri Baptist women's lacrosse (2-1, 0-0 KCAC) were brought back down to earth in a humbling defeat to second-ranked University of the Cumberlands. The 10th ranked Spartans fell 13-2 on early Saturday afternoon to finish off its two-game excursion against Mid-South opponents.

MBU were met with a big opening quarter from the home side as the Patriots netted seven scores in the first 15 minutes. After the first half, the score was 10-0 and the Spartans had only managed six shots. Cumberlands added three more goals in the second half while Kamryn Bell and Ashley Avery scored late in the game when things were already out of reach.

Missouri Baptist will go back to work at home with a quick turnaround between games. The Spartans will welcome Cornell College to Spartan Field on Monday, March 7th under the lights at 6:00 PM.
