BOONVILLE, Mo. – The Missouri Baptist University women's golf team finished in fifth place in their inaugural event of the fall season. Playing 36 holes in one day in the CMU Fall Invite the Spartan women finished with a score of 747 [375-372]. Columbia College claimed the title with a score of 666 at the tournament played at Hail Ridge Golf Course in Boonville, Mo.
For the Spartans, senior
Carlie Van Patten lead the way with a score of +37 [90-88] which was good enough for 12
th place overall. Making her collegiate debut freshman
Sophia Welch finished tied for 21
st with a total score of +43 on the par-71 course. Senior
Taylor Stimpson finished tied for 24
th, sophomore
Lauren Ice was 27
th, and freshman
Chelsea Young was tied for 38
th.
Following Columbia in the final team results were Central Methodist University [682], William Woods University [711], and the Columbia College "B" team [723].
Next up for the Spartans will be the FHU Fall Invitational hosted by Freed-Hardeman University at the Chickasaw Golf Club in Henderson, Tenn. on September 26
th and 27
th.
