Despite having the lead at halftime, MBU could not hold on and suffered a 35-20 loss on the road.
MoBap struck first late in the first quarter when Jordan Simpson scampered 17-yards into the endzone to make it 7-0.
With their second drive in the second quarter the Spartans marched down the field and capped off their 80-yard drive with another touchdown run by Simpson to give MBU a 13 point lead.
Prior to halftime a pair of defensive pass interference calls struck Missouri Baptist and Missouri Valley punched the ball into the endzone with 28 seconds left in the half.
Missouri Valley was ready to go directly after the break as they only needed two plays from scrimmage in the third quarter to find the endzone and take the lead from the Spartans.
MBU went three and out on the next drive and the Vikings needed three plays to reach the endzone to extend their lead to 21-13.
Early in the fourth quarter MoVal tacked on another touchdown to their total, but the Spartans found some life as Darius Morrison and the offense responded with an 83-yard touchdown run making it 28-20.
Following the score the MBU defense got a stop with just over seven minutes remaining, but a quick turnover gave the Vikings great field position.
Again the Spartan defense stopped the Viking offense holding them to a field goal attempt, but the kick went wide left giving MBU a chance for the tie.
Needing to go 80-yards to the endzone and convert the two point conversion, the drive started well for the Spartans, but Simpson felt some pressure during his dropback and threw off his back foot to a Missouri Valley defenseman for an interception.
Prior to the final buzzer the Vikings got into the endzone one last time to make it 35-20.
The Spartans' ground game was efficient as they racked up 212 rushing yards led by Morrison with 117 and a touchdown.
Giovanoi Sanes was in the Missouri Valley backfield for a majority of the day as he tallied 10 total tackles with six tackles for a loss of 26-yards.
The loss drops the Spartans to 1-5 and 0-1 in Heart of America play. Next Saturday MBU will take on Baker at Spartan Field with hopes of gaining their first conference win.
