ST. LOUIS- Men's soccer wrapped up their non-conference matches against Bellevue University today (Oct 4).
Despite the rainy weather, the Spartans found themselves in a bit of a drought. With only eight shots taken in 90 minutes, MBU was unable to put a point on the board.
The first attempt on goal came just under two minutes.
Ognjen Bozovic was in the right sport after thr ball ricocheted off a Bruin defender. The freshman fired off a long shot right into the waiting hands of the goalie. Ten minutes later,
Emilio Hernandez had an attempt of his own on a free kick not far outside the Bruins box. The Spartans were unable to stay on target the rest of the half while Bellevue managed to put two into the back of the net.
The Spartans last shot on goal came 15 minutes into the second period. After going on a run up the sideline,
Sergej Misic cut into open space and took the shot. The goalie was able to make the save, keeping the Spartans off the board. With the Bruins netting a couple more shots, the Spartans went down 0-4.
Next up the Spartans will be taking on Harris-Stowe State University on Wednesday, Oct 11.
