MAUMELLE, Ark. – The Missouri Baptist University Women's Golf Team dusted of their clubs and participated in the CBC Mustang Invitational at the Country Club of Arkansas near Conway, Ark. The team finished nine strokes behind Williams Baptist University in the team competition.
Leading the way for MBU was graduate student
Carlie Van Patten who carded a 45-over 189 which was good for sixth place on the par-72 course. Right behind Van Patten in a tie for seventh was senior
Taylor Stimpson and sophomore
Sophia Welch at 194. Freshman
Chelsea Young was ninth at +51, while sophomore
Lauren Ice rounded out the MBU team scoring in eleventh-place with a +57 (201).
A sixth Spartan, freshman
Ryen Tindall, participated as an individual and finished in tenth place with a +57 (196).
As a team MBU finished +191 over the two-day tournament.
The ladies will be back in action next Monday at the Mossy Oak Golf Club in West Point, Miss. Hosted by Blue Mountain University.
