MEN'S LACROSSE SET BACK BY WILLIAM PENN UNIVERSITY

Oskaloosa, Iowa- The Missouri Baptist University Men's Lacrosse team suffered it's first defeat of 2023 at the hands of (RV) William Penn University, 15-0, this Saturday in Oskaloosa, Iowa.

Following a quick start to the afternoon, the Spartans were stopped dead in their tracks and were unable to get the offense rolling in the first half. William Penn set the tone early scoring two shots in the first three minutes. MBU was no match for WPU defense and the first half resulted in a 4-0 lead for William Penn.

It was a long and tedious second half. MBU held the Statesman back for as long as they could but let go of 11 more goals. Mobap was not without scoring opportunities but the final shot count was 16-62 in favor of William Penn. Goalie, Ashton Scott, made 17 saves in his 60 minute playing time.

The Spartans are now 1-1 for the season and wont see home for another 3 games. Men's Lacrosse will preserver and bounce back from this defeat. The Spartans stay on the road to Ann Arbor, Mich. to face Concordia University at 1:00 PM (EST).
