ESLAH, Ill. — On Friday (Jan. 26) and Saturday (Jan. 27), The Missouri Baptist University Men's Track and Field team found success at the Principia Relays.
In the men's 5000 meter relay, Donovan Denslow (14.50.42) placed first, hitting an NAIA 'B' Standard in the event.
Denslow also took home second place out of 44 in the mile run, finishing in 4:19:29.
Graduate student Mayson DeRousse placed first in the men's pole vault for the fifth week in a row, yet again hitting an NAIA 'A' Standard with 5.10 meters.
Senior Camden Woolbright set two personal records this weekend in the PV and the 60 meter dash. He vaulted 4.35 meters, finishing 5th overall, and he ran a 7.21 dash, placing 12th out of 64.
In the 200 meter dash, Brayden Bauman (23.80) landed at 12th place, Brandin Dodd (24.60) took 28th, and Austin Tilley (24.70) finished at 31.
Bauman also set a PR of 7.27 and placed 17th out of 64 in the men's 60 meter dash.
Freshman Grant Patten (9:11:66) ran past 28 opponents into 6th place in the men's 3000 meter.
Jordan Walker-Wright (13.90 m.) and Colin Hutson (13.36 m.) placed 5th and 9th in the men's shot put. Both juniors set PRs in the event this weekend as well.
Walker-Wright (13.73) placed 9th out of 33 in the men's weight throw, too.
Other notable performances come from David Fletcher (15:47:53), who landed at 4th in the 5000 meter relay and Conner Coffey (5.34 m.), who finished at 15 out of 33 in the men's long jump.
The Spartans will compete again in Marion, Ind. on Friday (Feb. 2) at the IWU Midwest Classic (10:00 AM).
