SKOKIE, Ill. — Missouri Baptist University combined to make a modest but encouraging showing at the ONU Holiday Open this past weekend, with several individuals posting solid marks on both the men's and women's sides.
On the men's side, one highlight came in the long jump, where Brette Drye placed first and posted a leap of 6.90m, a display of raw explosiveness among the field. Drye also placed 13th in the men's 60-meter preliminaries with a time of 7.22.
On the women's side — while the full list of results wasn't publicly tallied for a team score — MBU women's participation helped round out the Spartans' presence at the meet.
In the women's 200 meters, Julianne Hansen placed tenth with a time of 28.12, with Rosario Garro Cortes following behind her at 28.31. Cortes also placed fourth in the women's 400 meters with a time of 1:01:54. Carly Roussin placed fourth in the 60-meter hurdles finals.
Although the meet lacked a formal team score, Missouri Baptist gained valuable early-season indoor experience, laying the foundation as the Spartans look ahead to the rest of the 2025–26 indoor season and their conference campaign.
