ST. LOUIS — Missouri Baptist University men's soccer is back in action tomorrow at home with a game against Central Baptist College and a showdown with No. 16 Columbia College on Saturday.
The Spartans are 7-5 and coming off a 3-2 win over the University of Jamestown last Saturday. MBU has won three straight games and is 2-0 in conference play, with a 3-2 record at home and a 4-3 record on the road.
Sophomore Edvin Mahmutovic has scored in three consecutive games for the Spartans and has four goals on the season. Mahmutovic was one of three MBU players to score in the team's victory last Saturday.
Ognjen Bozovic has scored in two of the last three games for the Spartans and has three tallies on the year. The sophomore was also one of the three scorers in the win over Jamestown.
Goalkeeper Sean Stone is 4-4 on the season with 39 saves and a 2.19 goals-against average (GAA).
Marko Dordevic leads the team in goals with 10, and Sergej Misic is second with five.
MBU is averaging 2.58 goals per game and has outscored its opponents 31-23 this season.
Central Baptist College: The Spartans will face the Mustangs at Spartan Field at 3:30 p.m. The match will be streamed live, and live stats will be available. CBC (4-8) is on a three-game losing streak and is 3-4 on the road.
The Mustangs are averaging 1.50 goals per game, and the team's defense has a 2.17 GAA.
Billy Murray leads the Mustangs in goals with five on the season, while Tim Echaniz and Joe McElhinney are tied for second with three each.
No. 16 Columbia College: MBU will take on the Cougars in Columbia, Mo., at R. Marvin Owens Field at 2:30 p.m. The match will be streamed live, and live stats will be available. Columbia College (8-2-2) has won two straight games and is 5-1-1 at home this season.
The Cougars are ranked No. 16 nationally, averaging 2.92 goals per game, and have outscored their opponents 35-13 this season.
Brady Freeman leads the team in goals with seven, while Josh Sutton and Miguel Gonzalez are tied for second with four each.
Alejandro Molto Munoz is the primary goalkeeper for Columbia College, with 45 saves on the year and a 1.02 GAA.
