Spartans Tame Mustangs 9-0 on Tuesday

ST. LOUIS – On Tuesday (Oct. 15), the Missouri Baptist University women's soccer team played a fantastic game against Central Baptist College, beating them 9-0. Multiple Spartans scored their first goals of the season as well.

MBU dominated across the field, denying CBC from taking any shots. On offense, the Spartans took 38 shots, with 26 of them being on goal.

20 minutes into the match, Leah Maxvill broke the tension with her first goal of the season, assisted by Rachael Beer.
Soon after, defender Piper Brown assisted Gabbie Wood in scoring her sixth goal of the season.

About 10 minutes before halftime, Beer scored a goal of her own assisted by Kacey Watson. This was Beer's first goal of the season.

With a new energy, the Spartans came into the second period even more ball-hungry than in the first.

Four minutes into the half, Skylar Hollingshead buried the ball into the back of the net, assisted by Maxvill. This was her fourth goal of the season.

Later on, Watson scored her second goal of the season off an assist from AnnaRose Eldred.

After Watson's electric goal, Beer scored again off Brown's second assist of the match.

Towards the end of the match, Ellie Mollish and freshman Emily Cremer scored their first goals of the season. Cheers filled the stadium.

Fired up from this impressive win, Missouri Baptist plays Columbia College on Saturday (Oct. 19), where they hope to upset the 10th ranked team.
