Spartans Tally Fifth Win in a Row in Sweep over CBC

CONWAY, Ark. – Missouri Baptist University women's volleyball pushed its winning streak to five games with a three-set victory at Central Baptist College on Friday night. The Spartans held the Mustangs under 15 points in every set and hit .324 collectively to earn the win in the Reddin Fieldhouse.

Central Baptist Recap

Missouri Baptist went up 7-1 early in the opening set behind a trio of kills from Gabi Jakubowska. The Spartans went on to win 25-13 on the strength of a team-high four kills from Fernanda Perini and a pair of aces from Lauren Clawson.  

Riley Kortkamp took control of the second set with six kills in a 25-14 Spartan win. Maiana Coelho tallied 17 assists in the frame helping Kassie Lee to four kills and freshman Madison Moore to three.

Coelho opened the third set with a service ace and her team never relinquished the lead. Moore notched five more kills in the set and Coelho 14 more assists as the team completed the sweep of the Mustangs 25-9.


Along with her team-high nine kills, Perini recorded three blocks and five digs. Julia Pereira continued to anchor the defense at libero with 20 digs while Kortkamp had nine kills on 15 attacks.
