FULTON, Mo. – Missouri Baptist University men's soccer and William Woods University played to a scoreless draw after 90 minutes on Tuesday evening.
"I was happy about our energy and play tonight. The boys definitely put in a shift," head coach Jake Alvernia said. "We'll look to finish an unbeaten run in conference play this coming Saturday against UHSP."
With the tie, the Spartans' record moves to 9-5-3 overall, and they remain unbeaten in conference play at 4-0-3.
This is the third draw in the last four games for the Spartans. Following Tuesday's result, MBU currently stands in second place in the AMC conference standings, with one regular season game remaining on Saturday.
The Owls outshot the Spartans 15-7, and a total of four yellow cards were issued, three of which went to MBU.
Goalkeeper Pawel Wolny posted a clean sheet, making eight saves—his second-highest total in a game this season. WWU's goalkeeper made six saves, and the Owls led in corner kicks with seven to MBU's three.
Neither team found the back of the net, resulting in MBU's third draw of the season.
The Spartans (9-5-3) will conclude the regular season on Saturday, Nov. 2, with a road tilt against the University of Health Sciences & Pharmacy. Kickoff is set for 10 a.m.
