ST. LOUIS — MBU women's soccer returns to action today for the first time since Sept. 16 for a game against Governors State University at 1 p.m.
The Spartans are 1-6 on the season and looking for their first victory since their 2-0 win over Baker University to open the regular season.
MBU is averaging 0.71 goals per game and has been outscored 28-5 throughout the season. Sophomore Gabbie Wood leads the team in goals with two, including a game-winning tally. Three other Spartans are tied for second on the team in goals with one apiece: AnnaRose Eldred, Skylar Hollingshead, and Emma Selsor.
Gabby Mattli and Hannah Miller have split time in goal for MBU. Mattli has a 5.15 goals-against average (GAA), while Miller has posted a 3.27 GAA in 2024.
Governors State University: The Spartans face the Jaguars at Sportsplex in Crown Point, Indiana, today at 1 p.m. The match will be streamed live, and live stats will be available. Governors State are 3-5-1 and lost their most recent game to Olivet Nazarene, 4-1, on Tuesday.
The Jaguars are averaging 1.67 goals per game and have scored 15 goals this season. Morgan Bean leads the team in goals with five and has recorded 10 points in 2024.
