ST. LOUIS — The Spartans return to the pitch this week with a road game Saturday against Williams Baptist University, looking for back-to-back conference victories.
Missouri Baptist University is 5-5 on the season and is coming off a dominant 7-0 victory over Mission University last weekend. Six different Spartans found the back of the net in the team's first conference win of the year.
Two goals from Marko Dordevic against the Patriots last Saturday brought his season total to eight, a team high.
Sophomore Sergej Misic remains second in goals scored this season. He's found the back of the net five times for MBU in 2024.
The Spartans are averaging 2.50 goals per game and have outscored their opponents 25-19 this season.
Williams Baptist University: MBU will face the Eagles in Walnut Ridge, Ark., on Saturday at 2 p.m., with the match being streamed live. Williams Baptist is 4-1-4 and most recently won its last game over Freed-Hardeman 1-0 on Sept. 24. The Eagles are 1-0-1 at home this season.
Williams Baptist is averaging 1.44 goals per game and have recorded 13 total goals throughout the year.
The leading scorer for the Eagles is Jacobo Obradors, who has seven goals this season, including one assist.
Rodrigo Pina has started every game at goalkeeper for Williams Baptist, recording 31 saves on the season.
