ST. LOUIS — Missouri Baptist University men's tennis fell to the University of Missouri-St. Louis 4-3 on Friday afternoon in a close match at the CBC Cadet Park Tennis Courts.
The Tritons won the first two doubles matches and were on their way to winning the third when their third doubles pairing took a 5-0 lead. However, Alberto Pros Cieker and Arkhip Tokmakov fought back from 5-0 down to send their doubles match into a tiebreaker before UMSL eventually closed it out, winning 10-8 in the tiebreaker. The three doubles victories secured the doubles point for UMSL heading into singles.
The Spartans earned three wins in singles, with victories from Strahinja Radanovic, Nicolas Sanchez, and Danijel Blagojevic. Despite these wins, three singles victories from the Tritons clinched the 4-3 victory for UMSL over MBU.
