WALNUT RIDGE, Ark. – The Missouri Baptist University women's soccer team defeated Williams Baptist University 1-0 on Saturday (Oct. 5) in their first American Midwest Conference match up of the season.
MBU displayed an excellent performance across the field, out-shooting WBU 17-9. Goalkeeper
Gabby Mattli played a huge role in the shutout, making five saves throughout the match.
The Spartans' defense blocked two shots and contributed significantly to the midfield's transition.
On offense, sophomore
AnnaRose Eldred scored her second goal of the season off an assist from
Skylar Hollingshead with fifteen minutes left in the first half.

Leah Maxvill,
Rachael Beer,
Gabbie Wood, and
Mara George all took shots on goal as well.
Undefeated in conference play, Missouri Baptist progresses to be 3-6 on the season. The Spartans will play again on Thursday (Oct. 10) on Spartan Field, where they will face the University of Jamestown.
