ST. LOUIS — Missouri Baptist University men's soccer begins play in the NAIA National Tournament with an opening round matchup against Governors State University on Thursday in Oskaloosa, Iowa.
The Spartans are coming off their first American Midwest Conference (AMC) Tournament title since 2018 and are making their first appearance in the NAIA National Tournament since 2021.
MBU, currently 12-5-4, has not lost a game since September.

After winning the AMC Tournament, MBU earned an automatic bid to the NAIA National Tournament. The Spartans are led by Marko Dordevic, who has tallied 15 goals and seven assists this season.
Sergej Misic has also reached double digits in goals, scoring 10 while adding five assists.
Edvin Mahmutovic and Ognjen Bozovic have each contributed six goals, with Mahmutovic adding seven assists to Bozovic's two.
In goal, Pawel Wolny has a 5-0-3 record with 45 saves and a 0.82 goals-against average (GAA).
Governors State University
The Spartans will face the Jaguars at 3 p.m. Thursday at William Penn University. The game will be streamed live, with live stats available. Governors State is 15-2-4 on the season and secured an automatic bid to the NAIA National Tournament by winning the CCAC Conference Playoffs Championship.
The Jaguars are riding a 15-game unbeaten streak and are led by Andrea Croce, who has recorded 17 goals and seven assists this season.
Goalkeeper Marcal Salom Chandre has 82 saves and a 0.84 GAA. Governors State averages 3.29 goals per game.
MBU is 2-1 all-time against the Jaguars, most recently defeating them 2-0 in 2022 at Spartan Field.
The winner of Thursday's game will face William Penn University on Saturday.
