FULTON, Mo.- Missouri Baptist women's wrestling captured a road win over conference opponent William Woods University this Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2024, by a score of 35-15, where the Spartans only gave team points from forfeits and only gave up six match points. 

The night started hot with a first-period fall by Lillian Hackworth at 103, which put the Spartans on the board early. The victory was followed by a couple of alternating forfeits, with Meghan Menke claiming one at 117. 

At 131 lbs, Chloe Herrick earned the fall over her opponent at the 3:16 mark early in the second period. Cara Cheng followed up Herrick's fifth one in the first period of the 138-pound bout. 

The Spartans rounded out the night by capturing three falls in the final three matches: at 160 by Josette Partney, at 180 by Emma Schreiber, and at 207 by Abby Chandler. 

The Spartans will travel again to Marshall, Mo., to compete in the Missouri Valley Open, which is hosted by Missouri Valley College on Friday Nov. 22. The first whistle is set for noon.
