Oskaloosa, Iowa – Missouri Baptist University men's soccer concluded its season with a 3-1 loss to Governors State University in the opening round of the NAIA National Tournament on Thursday evening.
The Spartans wrapped up the 2024 campaign with a 12-6-4 record. The team's lone goal came from Sergej Misic, his 11th of the season.
MBU was outshot 15-9 in the contest. Despite holding a 1-0 lead at halftime, three second-half goals by the Jaguars propelled them to the second round.
Misic opened the scoring in the 22nd minute, giving the Spartans an early 1-0 advantage.
In the second half, Governors State found the net in the 68th, 70th, and 71st minutes to secure the 3-1 victory.
