MBU to Take On Future Conference Rivals in MidAmerica Nazarene Tournament

ST. LOUIS — Missouri Baptist University men's basketball returns to the hardwood this weekend, competing in the MidAmerica Nazarene Tournament with a game against Grand View University on Friday and a matchup with the Pioneers on Saturday.

Both games will be played at the Cook Center in Olathe, Kan. These contests will feature future conference rivals, as MBU is set to join the Heart of America Athletic Conference in the summer of 2025.

The Spartans enter the weekend at 0-2 after two losses in last week's Abe Lemons Classic. MBU is averaging 72.5 points per game and shooting 38.1 percent from the floor.

Three Spartans currently average double figures in points: Breven McMullen (18.0), Evan Palmquist (17.0), and Thai Elder (12.0).

Grand View University: The Spartans will face the Vikings at 7 p.m. Friday. The game will be streamed live, with live stats available. Grand View is 1-1 to start the season, averaging 97.5 points per game, and shooting 57.5 percent from the floor. Jaxson Young leads the Vikings with an average of 29.5 points per game.

MidAmerica Nazarene University: MBU will play the Pioneers at 8 p.m. Saturday. The game will also be streamed live, with live stats available. MNU is 0-1, following a 94-77 loss to No. 5 Oklahoma Wesleyan University. The Pioneers' top scorer is Joe Buchanan, who scored 22 points against the Eagles.
