The Missouri Baptist University men's lacrosse team dominated the field at Midland University's campus, beating them 15-3. This is the largest margin of victory since these teams started playing each other in 2021.
MBU set the tone early in this game, with a pretty goal from Joe Busselman assisted by Reece Dotterer. Midland promptly responded with a goal of their own about a minute later.Â
After being tied 1-1 for about two minutes, Missouri Baptist went on a five goal scoring-streak in this order:Â
Brock Pleis (assisted by Caleb Tant)
Busselman (assisted by Tant)
DottererÂ

Pleis (assisted by Dylan Forbeck)
The score was 6-1 with 12-19 left in the second quarter when MU was able to score again.Â
This did not slow down the Spartans, though.Â
Forbeck took a drive for an unassisted goal, and he assisted Busselman in his third goal of the day. Freshman Nolan Portell also scored a goal.Â
With 13:52 left in the third quarter, Midland scored their last goal of the game.Â
The Spartan attack put in the work, but the defense also stayed active in this game.Â
Goalkeeper Ashton Scott made 12 saves, for an impressive save percentage of .800, and he picked up three ground balls. In this game, he made his 300th career save, a fantastic feat for a goalie.Â
On defense, Connor Hickman picked up one GB and caused two turnovers. Sean Livingston got a GB and caused a turnover as well. Tanner Whittemore grabbed one GB and caused four turnovers.Â
The defenders contributed to the final score by locking things down in front of their cage, but a couple of those players even added points to the board.Â
Whittemore scored a goal assisted by Drew Chiodini, and Hickman assisted Busselman in his fourth goal of the day.Â
Pleis scored a total of four goals throughout the match. Dotterer scored one more goal, making it two on the day. Chiodini also scored a goal of his own.Â
Busselman scored a whopping five goals in total, scoring the first and last goals of the match. He hit a career high for goals in a game with this number.Â
MBU plays again on Saturday (March 30) against (RV) Benedictine College at 1:00 PM.Â
