ST. LOUIS – Representatives from the Missouri Baptist University men's and women's track and field teams competed in the St. Ambrose University Bumble Rumble on Saturday (Jan. 18), where a newcomer finished in first place and other Spartans shattered their personal records.
Freshman
Alex Shields took first place out of nine in the 1000 m run (2:37.97). Also having competed in the 1000 m,
Ethan Bliss landed at third place with a time of 2:43.65.
In the high jump,
Brandin Dodd reached 1.78 m and finished in third place. He also hit new personal records in both the 60 m and 80 m dashes. In the 60 m dash, he finished with a time of 7.58, and in the 200, his time was 23.72.
Also, for Missouri Baptist's men's team, junior
David Fletcher hit a PR of 1:57.40 in the 800 m.
On the women's side, senior
Mia Duncan finished second in the 1000 meter run (3:06.75).
Adrienne Rockette followed close behind in the same event, taking the fourth-place spot (3:12.59).
The Spartans are back on the track on Saturday (Jan. 25) at the NAIA/JUCO Challenge in Pittsburg, Kan., hosted by Pittsburg State University.
