ST. LOUIS, Mo. – Missouri Baptist University standout
Mia Duncan has been named to the 2024-25 Academic All-America® First Team for women's track & field/cross country, as selected by the College Sports Communicators (CSC). The honor recognizes Duncan's exceptional achievements in both the classroom and competition.
Duncan capped off a historic career by earning one of the most prestigious academic honors in collegiate athletics. The Accounting major tallied a 3.87 GPA and adds Academic All-America First Team to a list of academic awards, which includes seven Academic All-Conference selections and nine Daktronics NAIA Scholar-Athlete honors.
During the cross country season, the Augusta, Mo., native became MBU's first All-American since 2009 after placing inside the top 40 at the NAIA National Championships hosted at Gans Creek in Columbia, Mo. She additionally qualified for the NAIA Indoor and Outdoor Track & Field National Championships. She narrowly missed the finals in the 1,000m during the indoor meet while taking third place at the outdoor meet in the 3000m steeplechase after winning the preliminaries.
Over her career, Duncan was a dominant force in the American Midwest Conference (AMC) and on the national stage. In total, she is a four-time NAIA All-American, earning honors in the 3000m steeplechase (2024, 2025), indoor 1000m (2024), and cross country (2024) while qualifying for nationals 12 times. Duncan additionally earned the AMC Outstanding Outdoor Track Athlete three times, AMC Outstanding Indoor Track Athlete twice, and claimed the Outdoor Athlete of the Meet award this season.
