FORT WAYNE, Ind.- The Spartan women's wrestling squad battled tough competition in the Warrior Open, where they crowned two champions,
Josette Partney and
Cara Cheng.

Josette Partney took home the title in the "Maximus" Division with a statement performance. The Ellisville, Mo. native went on a tear. She collected a technical fall to start her day off and then proceeded to knock off the No. 4 and No. 6 wrestlers in the country before she pinned her opponent in the finals.
Cara Cheng also finished with the championship title as she took home the crown in the "Pancake" Division at 138 pounds. Cheng was 4-for-5 in bonus point victories on the weekend as she picked up three falls and a technical fall en route to her first-place finish.
Other standout performances for the Spartans came from
Lillian Hackworth, who placed 8th at 103 in the "Pancake" Division, where she pinned two of her opponents, and Anatasia Hardin, who captured the consolation bracket win with four falls and finished the weekend 4-1.
The Spartans travel to St.Charles, Mo., to compete in a dual against division one opponent Lindenwood University. Wrestling will commence at 6 p.m.
