MBU Men’s Soccer Prepares for Crucial Week Against Baker and Clarke

ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The Missouri Baptist University men's soccer team is set to host its seventh home match against RV Baker University (Kan.) on Wednesday, Oct. 15, before hitting the road for its seventh away game against Clarke University on Saturday, Oct. 18.

The Spartans have faced Baker University five times, holding a 1-3-1 record. Their most recent matchup took place 11 years ago, on Aug. 22, 2014 which ended in a draw.

The Wildcats boast an impressive 7-4-2 overall record and a 4-3-1 mark in conference play. They recently earned a 2-0 victory over Mount Mercy University, while the Spartans secured a dominant 5-0 win against the Mustangs as their most recent game.

MBU will then take on Clarke University for the fourth time in program history. The Spartans' last victory over the Pride came in 2016 on the road in Dubuque, Iowa.

The Pride currently holds an overall record of 4-5-4 with a 2-5-2 mark in conference play. They also managed to find the back of the net several times in their matchup against Mount Mercy.

This week, the Spartans face a pair of tough matchups but are determined to improve their overall standing in both the Heart of America Athletic Conference and the NAIA.
