FAIRVIEW HEIGHTS, Ill. — Missouri Baptist University turned in a strong all-around weekend as both Spartan bowling programs competed at the McKendree Match Games on Nov. 22–23. The women's varsity team earned a top-five finish, while the men's squads delivered several standout individual performances.
Missouri Baptist's women's varsity team placed fourth overall with 7,519 pins, finishing behind Mount Mercy University, Lindenwood University, and SCAD-Savannah in a 23-team field. Mount Mercy won the event with 7,797.
Amber Lymenstull and
Maddie Ehrhard spearheaded the Spartans' effort, landing back-to-back top-10 finishes. Lymenstull rolled a 969 five-game series (193.8 avg.) and closed with a 245. Ehrhard followed with 968, including a 257 in Game 2.
Kassandra Foss added 937, placing 18th.
Samantha DeBeaux contributed 838, while
Emily Wagner added a four-game 717 (179.25 avg.).
In the junior varsity division, MBU claimed a runner-up finish with 6,766 pins, led by
Olivia Frenz (886),
Julia Henderson (861),
Neela Missey (819) and
Kaylie Cerulo (789).
The MBU men's varsity program placed 18th of 31 teams, totaling 7,732 pins in a deep field topped by Purdue and McKendree. Purdue won with 8,577.
Bryson Hicks led the Spartans with a 1,035 (207 avg.) five-game block, highlighted by scores of 229 and 222.
Silas Moats followed with 954, and
Jonah Fisher supplied 762 over four games.
Lance Starks posted 844, while
Alec Forester rolled 533.
Missouri Baptist's JV squads produced some of the team's strongest individual showings of the weekend. MBU JV1 placed eighth with 7,780 pins, driven by a standout performance from
Jack Hoffbuhr, who finished 27th overall in the entire men's field with 1,067 (213.4 avg.).
Dylan Bennett added 1,002, and
Tyler Marquart rolled 948.
JV2 placed 11th with 7,055 pins, paced by
Brandon Long (920) and
Hayden McFadden (875).
Missouri Baptist continues its fall schedule on Thursday, Dec. 18, to begin the Glenn Carlson Invite in Las Vegas, Nev.
