ST. LOUIS – The Missouri Baptist University men's and women's tennis teams both secured victories over Quincy University on Friday afternoon.

Women's Tennis

The Spartans remained undefeated, improving to 5-0 with a dominant 7-0 sweep of the Hawks.

MBU controlled the match from start to finish, winning both the doubles and singles portions in decisive fashion. Polina Agapitova and Mariana Azevedo, along with Jocelynn Carmody and Mia McIsaac, won their doubles matches to give the Spartans a 1-0 lead heading into singles.

The momentum carried over as all six MBU players claimed singles victories to seal the sweep.

"This was the first time our women have beaten Quincy since I've been here," head coach Scott Goodyear said. "They are a very confident group right now, and it shows."

Men's Tennis

The Spartans picked up their third win of the season, improving to 3-2 with a hard-fought 4-3 victory over Quincy.

MBU fell behind early, dropping the doubles point despite a win from Luca Da Silva Ebenriter and Sebastian Junganns.

Trailing 1-3 in matches, the Spartans rallied with singles victories from Strahinja Radanovic, Lucas Kzam, Arkhip Tokmakov, and Nicolas Sanchez to complete the comeback.

"Down 1-3 in matches, I loved the fight our guys showed to the very end!" Goodyear said. "And it was great to get the win for Danijel as well."
