CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – On Thursday (Feb. 27), the Missouri Baptist University women's lacrosse team defeated Mount Mercy University with 26 goals from ten different scorers to produce a final of 26-1.
Within the first minute of the contest, captain
Mack Miller set the tone with an unassisted goal ripped from the eight-meter arc.
Lilly Clepper,
Lydia Cornett,
Olivia Julian,
Kiersten Lang,
Skyler Morrissey,
Marissa Oldham,
Delaney Pechnik,
Alexis Taylor, and
Madison Terrell all went on to score goals as well.
Transfer student Clepper scored her first goal as a Spartan, and sophomore Oldham scored her first of the season.
Multiple Missouri Baptist players across the field recorded assists. A few of these players included Cornett, Julian, Lang, and Miller.
Defensively, MBU shut down the Mustangs. The Spartans only allowed four shots in total. Senior goalkeeper
Kevynn Bouchard recorded a save percentage of .667.
Mount Mercy was able to sneak in just one goal in the third quarter, but this did not phase the Spartans who scored ten more after.

They play again tomorrow (Feb. 28) against St. Ambrose University in Davenport.
