ST. LOUIS — Missouri Baptist University Men's and Women's Track and Field participated in two competitive meets in St. Louis on Thursday (March 27) Friday (March 28), and Saturday (March 29).
The Spartans competed well at both meets, with
Mia Duncan standing out at the Wash U Distance Carnival and
Shaun Roberts making a splash at the Billiken Invitational.Â
Wash U Distance Carnival:Â
Duncan displayed an excellent performance at the Distance Carnival, hosted by Washington University. In the 3,000 m steeplechase, Duncan hit an NAIA 'A' standard of 10:53.85. With this time, she took 11th place out of 36.
Grant Patten,
Adrienne Rockette, and
Julia Whorton also participated in the distance carnival.Â

Billiken Invitational:
Freshman Roberts earned second place out of 39 in the 100 meter, finishing with a time of 10.75 at the invitational hosted by St. Louis University.Â
Roberts also participated in the 4x400 relay team with Cortlen Johnson,
Jackie Wilson and
Brandin Dodd. They finished in fourth with a time of 42.66.Â
Fellow freshman Lucas Sa also performed well, finishing in fifth place (56.63) in the 400 m. Richard Rowley was also a fifth place finisher (46.54 m) in the javelin throw.Â
Jordan Walker-Wright took fourth out of 29 in the discus throw, recording a distance of 42.58 m.Â
On the women's side, Duncan performed well again, finishing in fourth (1:06.14) in the 400 hurdles.Â
Emma Lawson represented the Spartans in the hammer throw, placing eighth out of 25 and hitting 40.08 m.Â

MBU competes again on Friday (April 4) at the Joey Haynes Invite hosted by South East Missouri State.Â
