ST. LOUIS - Missouri Baptist University men's and women's tennis is set to debut in the first-ever Heart of America Athletic Conference Tournament beginning tomorrow in Kansas City, Mo.
The tournament for both the men and women will take place at the Plaza Tennis Center, 4747 Baltimore Ave, Kansas City, MO 64112.

Teams will be competing against each other in a single elimination style tournament with the winner receiving an automatic berth to the NAIA National Championship, being held in Mobilie, Ala in May.
MBU Men's Tennis
The Spartan men enter the conference tournament as the No. 2 seed. MBU finished the regular season second place in the conference with a 14-6 record overall and 4-1 in conference play.
Debuting as the No. 2 seed, the Spartans will face No. 7 seed John Brown University in the Quarterfinals tomorrow at 11:30 a.m on courts 1-6.
MBU most recently swept the Golden Eagles 4-0 to wrap up its regular season six days ago.
JBU finished the regular season 8-10 and has lost two matches in a row heading into the conference tournament.
Throughout the regular season, Arkhip Tokmakov led MBU in singles victories with a 13-4 record and the doubles tandem of Luca da Silva Ebenriter and Sebastian Junghanns led the Spartans going 14-4.
With a victory against the Golden Eagles, MBU would face the winner of No. 3 seed Texas Wesleyan and No. 6 seed Grand View in the Semifinals at 5 p.m. later in the day on courts 7-12.

MBU Women's Tennis
The Spartan women enter the conference tournament as the No. 2 seed. MBU finished the regular season second place in the conference with a 11-7 record overall and 4-1 in conference play.
Also debuting as the No. 2 seed, the Spartans will face No. 7 seed Grand View University in the Quarterfinals tomorrow at 9:00 a.m on courts 1-6.
MBU and Grand View didn't match up in the regular season due to a forfeit from the Vikings.
The Vikings finished the regular season 1-12 and have lost two-straight matches.
Polina Agapitova led the Spartans in singles throughout the regular season with a 10-3 record while Nirva Patel and Yvonne Shannon as a double pair went 6-4 together leading MBU at the No. 1 doubles position.
With a victory against the Vikings, MBU would face the winner of No. 3 seed Texas Wesleyan and No. 6 seed Baker in the Semifinals at 2:30 p.m. later in the day on courts 7-12.
