David Rudic, and
Marko Jovanovic were selected as American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) All-Americans on Monday morning. All three earn the award for the first time in their respective careers.
The trio led Missouri Baptist University men's volleyball to the program's first Heart of America Athletic Conference (HAAC) regular season championship and a 26-5 overall record.
Olson was named to the first team after finishing fifth in the nation with 386 kills, including a 3.61 kills per set. He set career highs in hitting percentage (.321), service aces (48), total blocks (58), and solo blocks (6). For his efforts, he was also named the HAAC Co-Player of the Year along with a selection to the All-HAAC First Team and a pair of HAAC Attacker of the Week awards.
Joining him on the first team was his setter Rudic, who came in first in the NAIA with 1,164 total assists and second in the nation with 10.89 assists per set. The senior from Serbia was also named the conference Setter of the Year, won a pair of NAIA Setter of the Week awards, and claimed four HAAC Setter of the Week awards. He surpassed 3,000 career assists on Feb. 11 in a five-set win over Missouri Valley College and sits second in program history with 3,926.
On the second team was Jovanovic who was also named the HAAC Attacker of the Year. After earning HAAC Libero of the Year in 2024, Jovanovic switched to the outside and posted career-highs with 3.54 kills per set, 382 total kills, and a .311 attack percentage. From the service line, he chipped in 44 aces while helping on defense with 1.56 digs per set and 39 total blocks.
The newly awarded AVCA All-Americans will lead MBU men's volleyball into NAIA National Championship pool play starting on Tuesday, April 29. The opening serve against UC Merced is set for 4 p.m., in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
