WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. – Missouri Baptist University men's and women's tennis teams were both defeated by nationally ranked University of the Cumberlands squads on Saturday afternoon.
Men's Tennis
The No. 15-ranked Patriots ended MBU's six-match winning streak with a 4-0 victory. The Spartans (12-5) also dropped their first road match of the season, falling to 3-1 away from home.
Cumberlands claimed the doubles point with wins in two of the three matches. The lone doubles victory for MBU came from the duo of Strahinja Radanovic and Arkhip Tokmakov.
In singles, the Patriots swept the Spartans to clinch the match.
Women's Tennis
The No. 19-ranked Patriots earned a 5-1 win over the Spartans (8-6), who fell to 1-3 in road contests this season.
MBU dropped all three doubles matches to trail 1-0 heading into singles play. The lone win for the Spartans came from Polina Agapitova in singles.
